Sales Tools
Practice Specialists receive a variety of sales tools that help them grow their business. These tools include:
- An online sales management tool to manage and track sales activity and commissions
- Introduction and sales follow-up letter templates for use in generating sales meetings and closing sales
- Presentation template for all training and product demonstrations
- Co-branded business shirt
- Co-branded banner for events
- Sales Packs that can be distributed to prospective clients, including:

Upon joining the program, Practice Specialists receive an initial allocation of 100 Sales Packs to help them get started. For additional co-branded merchandise, shirts or banners, orders can be placed with the allocated Business Development Manager.

In addition to ongoing training and development activities, all Reckon Practice Specialists undertake a 3-day induction training course before commencing the program, which includes:

Dedicated BDM support
Reckon assigns every Practice Specialist with a Reckon Business Development Manager. The Business Development Manager will meet with the Practice Specialist regularly and provide the following services and assistance:
- Assist with sales inquiries
- Assist in performing product demonstrations to prospective clients
- Organise promotional activities with the Reckon marketing team to promote your services
- Provide assistance with sales administration activities
- Assist in report generation and submission
- Ensure you have the necessary collateral to sell and support Reckon products
- Organise event participation and attendance
- Work with you to facilitate the running of webinars and events
- Ensure you have the required training needed to succeed as a Practice Specialist
Your responsibilities
Reckon Practice Specialists need to meet and maintain a number of key performance indicators in order to maintain Practice Specialist status, including:
Maintain Reckon Accredited Professional Partner and Reckon Elite consultant accreditation (or obtain accreditation if not currently accredited)
- Maintain a specified volume of sales activity
- Maintain a specified volume of training activity
- Maintain a high standard of customer service for their clients
- Maintain a commitment to ongoing personal development and the development of Reckon products
- Participate in regular product and sales training provided by Reckon
- Provide exclusive support to Reckon products (which can be progressively achieved over a 2 year period)

Entry requirements
If you have a strong desire to build your business and client base, the Reckon Practice Specialist Program is for you. To apply to be a Reckon Practice Specialist, you need to meet the following criteria:
Professional criteria - mandatory
- A strong understanding of accounting practices and the accounting industry
- Reckon Professional Partner Membership (or commit to obtaining membership upon acceptance into the Practice Specialist Program)
- Reckon Accredited Professional Partner Membership (or commit to obtaining accreditation within 3 months of acceptance into the Practice Specialist Program)
- Reckon Elite Accreditation (or commit to obtaining accreditation within 3 months of acceptance into the Practice Specialist Program)
Business Infrastructure criteria - highly desirable
- Employs staff to ensure a high level of client support (or commitment to employ staff within 12 months)
- Operates, or plans to operate within the next 6 months, from a corporate office space (not a home office)
- Has reception and/or call centre facilities to support clients when unavailable
- Is in a position to grow as demand for services grows
- Has sufficient financial and personnel resources to comply with all Practice Specialist responsibilities
- Presents a professional business image
- Has facilities for mobile and/or remote access to email and internet
- Maintains a corporate website
Professional Association Membership criteria - highly desirable
- Have, or be eligible to apply for membership of
- CPA Australia, or
- National Institute of Accountants, or
- Taxation Institute of Australia, or
- Institute of Chartered Accountants of Australia as a practicing accountant.
You will need to provide evidence of your current or previous membership and experience to date.
